Situation in Bangladesh

Education is the fundamental right that everyone should avail of irrespective of economic
situation, race, gender, or anything else. Globally 258 million children have been deprived of this
opportunity in the current world (UNESCO). The situation is worse from the perspective of
developing countries. The out of school and dropout rate is higher in poor countries due to acute
poverty and other related reasons. According to government statistics, 4.3 million children are
out of school and 36% of children drop out in Bangladesh.

NAHAR’s Activities in Education Sector

North American Humanitarian Aid and Relief (NAHAR) usually helps children from poor
families to continue their education along with other scholarship support.
● NAHAR already helped approximately 1000 poor and orphan children in Bangladesh to
complete their education
● 100 disabled students received financial assistance and educational instruments from
NAHAR
● They are also providing vocational and non-vocational education to the Rohingya
children. The purpose is to secure the education of the poor and orphans in Bangladesh.
● Regular scholarship program is open for Bangladeshi poor students by NAHAR
● NAHAR Donors are taking the responsibilities for students and sponsoring on monthly
basis
